Paperwork Required for Marriage

What do I need?

♥ You must be over 18 years of age.
♥ Give at least ONE CALENDAR MONTH’S NOTICE before your wedding ceremony date. This is done on a special form that also records personal details about you both. I have this form.
♥ If born in Australia you require your original birth certificate or a certified copy from the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages in the state you were born.
♥ If born overseas your passport from your birth country is acceptable but your birth certificate is preferable.
♥ For those who have been married before, divorce papers or death certificates are required.

♥ If, for any other reason you have changed your name, then you need to provide documents to show that change.
♥ Sometimes your documents need translating. Please use an authorised translation service.
